General Pelvic Floor Information Talk with Doctor of Physical Therapy Carolyn Yates

Have you heard of pelvic floor physical therapy but have no idea what it is? Are you currently pregnant or did you recently give birth? Were you told you have diastasis recti but were given little to no information on what to do about it? Do you have pain with sex? Do you feel an extreme urge to urinate with specific activities (ie. Putting the key into your front door)? Do you leak urine when exercising? Do you experience deep hip pain or pain “up there” when exercising?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions or have questions about pelvic floor physical therapy then you will benefit from attending the General Pelvic Floor Information Talk with Doctor of Physical Therapy Carolyn Yates. Carolyn is a licensed physical therapist and owner of Verity Physical Therapy & Wellness. She specializes in pelvic floor physical therapy and treats patients in Boulder and the surrounding areas. She has offered to provide a free educational talk on what pelvic floor physical therapy is and what conditions can be treated with this specialty.

“Pelvic floor physical therapy is a widely unknown specialty of PT that many women and men would greatly benefit from. My goal is to provide education on what pelvic floor physical therapy is and how it can be an option for people if they, or any of their friends or family members, are experiencing abnormal pelvic issues. The more people I can educate, the less likely someone will turn to surgery when the answer could have been a few sessions of pelvic floor PT.”

In this talk, Carolyn will be discussing pelvic floor physical therapy in general. She will touch on the many signs and symptoms that may be experienced that can be treated with pelvic floor PT and what pelvic floor PT sessions look like.
